Career start with a future: technotrans welcomes 46 new apprentices across the group

  • Training in 25 Specializations Group-wide
  • Positions filled early again this year
  • Expansion of recruitment efforts in schools and online

With the start of the training year, a total of 46 young people are beginning their technical, commercial, or industrial apprenticeships at technotrans. The company welcomed the new apprentices and dual students at its headquarters in Sassenberg and its location in Meinerzhagen today – all positions were filled. Additionally, apprentices will start at the Bad Doberan and Baden-Baden locations in September. To continue this success in the coming years, technotrans is consistently expanding its commitment to recruiting young talent. Further school partnerships, better transportation connections in Sassenberg, and increased social media activities are just a few examples of this.

"We are very pleased that we were once again able to attract numerous motivated young people to our company. This underscores the quality of our training offerings and shows that technotrans is convincing applicants as an attractive employer," says Anna-Lena Freese, Head of Training at technotrans. At the specialist for thermal management applications, the apprentices can expect exciting projects, a respectful work environment, and accompanying mentoring. The latter is usually provided by apprentices from higher years, facilitating cross-year exchange. For the individual development of the apprentices, the training plan includes regular departmental rotations along with many onboarding trainings at the beginning.

technotrans trains in 25 specializations group-wide, including five dual study programs. The company also offers its approximately 150 apprentices opportunities for internships abroad, including in international subsidiaries or through the ERASMUS program. Contact with English-speaking customers and suppliers further enhances international experiences and language skills.

Recruiting Apprentices via TikTok

One of the keys to recruitment success is authentic communication by the apprentices themselves. Technotrans has an apprentice marketing team that independently runs an Instagram channel. Since the beginning of this year, the young professionals have also been active on TikTok – some of the short videos now have several hundred thousand views.

In addition, direct contact with potential applicants remains one of the most important tools – for example, in schools, at trade fairs, or during internship days. Technotrans expanded this commitment in December 2023: As part of the "School-Business Partnership" project of the IHK Nord Westfalen, the technology group now also cooperates with the comprehensive school Warendorf. The project's goal is to support students in career orientation and companies in securing skilled workers.

Gradually Increasing Employer Attractiveness

technotrans employees have also recently benefited from improved transportation connections: In June of this year, the trial phase for expanding bus service in the industrial area on Robert-Linnemann-Straße in Sassenberg began. Buses on line 316 from Warendorf now stop at the new "technotrans" stop directly at the company building.

The application phase for the coming year has already begun. It's worth acting quickly to start an apprenticeship at technotrans: "The employment agency has confirmed that we are the first company in the region to report fully occupied training positions again this year. This is not a given in times of increasing skilled labor shortages," emphasizes Freese.
