The future of electromobility: technotrans presents its 850 V DC thermal management solution for mobile applications

  • Efficient cooling solutions for HPC charging stations
  • zeta.road mobile high-voltage battery cooling system up to 850 V DC
  • Also customised solutions for e-road vehicles

High-performance charging infrastructure based on energy-efficient thermal management solutions: technotrans SE presents its cooling systems for electromobility applications at this year's Battery Show in Stuttgart. The main focus will be on the mobile high-voltage battery cooling system zeta.road for an operating voltage up to 850 V DC. The solution does not require an additional voltage transformer, thereby reducing the energy loss of electrically powered road vehicles. In addition, technotrans will also showcase several efficient cooling modules for integration into stationary fast-charging systems (high power charging systems, HPC).

High-performance battery technologies, fast charging and a user-friendly infrastructure: The increased electromobility adoption requires clever solutions. "With its mobile and stationary thermal management systems, technotrans promotes the electromobility evolution in multiple ways," says Sascha Koller, Sales Manager at technotrans.

High-voltage battery cooling for a reduced energy loss

At the Battery Show, the specialist for thermal management solutions will present its mobile zeta.road battery cooling system as a high-voltage variant up to 850 V DC. This system is compatible with particularly powerful batteries. Due to the fact that it can be connected directly to the battery voltage without any additional voltage transformer, the system reduces energy losses, thereby increasing the efficiency of the overall system. As a result, zeta.road saves costs and weight while eliminating the risk of failure of an additional component. In addition, the compact solution has a very small footprint.

Apart from standard systems, technotrans also develops customised solutions, e.g. for cooling the traction systems or electronic power modules. The thermal management system is always specifically adapted to the requirements of electric road vehicles such as electric buses or autonomous special vehicles at airports and ports or for mining applications. "The interplay of innovative solutions is increasingly gaining relevance. This is why we offer our customers a comprehensive thermal management system," says Koller.

Stationary cooling solutions for fast-charging systems

In the field stationary systems, the charging.cool series made by technotrans is a reliable and compact solution for HPC charging stations. The cooling modules protect the internal components of the charging station from the waste heat produced while also enabling the use of cables with a rather small diameter even at high charging power.

The technotrans solutions cool both the charging cable and the plug. The adequate use of electric buses, lorries and off-road vehicles requires short charging times and, therefore, also adequate cooling systems. "Efficient cooling is absolutely essential for technologies with high charging power and, therefore, also for the increased adoption of electromobility solutions. technotrans, with its many years of experience, greatly contributes to the success of this development.

You can meet technotrans SE at the Battery Show in Stuttgart on 23-25 May at stand 10-H45.
