GWK celebrates its 50th anniversary with three parties at the Fakuma trade fair stand

Hundreds of guests join the pioneer of energy-efficient cooling and temperature control technology

Hundreds of guests accepted GWK's invitation. True to the motto "all good things come in threes", GWK Gesellschaft Wärme Kältetechnik mbH, Meinerzhagen, held three stand parties at the Fakuma 2017 trade fair. "Around 850 guests joined us at our stand on three evenings," said a delighted Helmut Gries, Sales and Marketing Manager. "However, our company anniversary was not the only hot topic. We also talked extensively about our intelligent cooling and temperature control solutions with a strong focus on the megatrends of energy efficiency and connectivity as part of Industry 4.0."

The party marathon in Friedrichshafen marked the kick-off of a series of events in connection with the 50th anniversary of the company which will be celebrated officially on 14 December 2017. The headline "50 years of GWK: quality, experience and competence" are three buzzwords that suitably highlight the brand essence of the specialist in energy-efficient cooling and temperature control technology.

The company from the Sauerland region knows how to party. This year, "Billyboyz featuring Edita Abdieski" provided the music for the evening during which ample food and drinks were served. The five professionally trained musicians Markus Schürjann, Jan Zimmer, Tobias Albrecht, Timo Lindenschmidt and Karsten Stiers – Westphalia’s number 1 party band by their own account – were supported by the Swiss singer Edita Abdieski who won the German music casting show "X Factor" in November 2010. Rock singer Jini Meyer who had been the lead singer of the band "Luxuslärm" for ten years made a surprise guest appearance. With album sales of more than 250,000 between 2006 and 2016, "Luxuslärm" is one of Germany's most successful bands.

GWK was officially founded on 14 December 1967 by Reinhard A. Zeppenfeld in Kierspe and was one of the 30 first-time exhibitors at the premiere of Fakuma in 1981. The former managing partner was also the chairman of the exhibitors' advisory board for many years. Today, the company operates from the former Battenfeld location in Meinerzhagen and employs more than 400 staff there. Thanks to a new concept for all the processes and material flow, the production capacity was more than doubled recently and the processing times were also shortened accordingly.

GWK is represented in Germany with a total of 19 sales and service locations. In addition, over 32 representative offices worldwide are further evidence of the company's international focus. The network around the world is also enhanced by local contact partners for sales and service in 21 additional subsidiaries of technotrans as the majority shareholder that has held 98% of business shares since last year.

The company group successfully focuses on fluid technology. With about 1,250 employees, it has a presence in all major markets worldwide. For many years, technotrans has opened up new areas of application based on the core competences of cooling, temperature control, filtration as well as measuring and dosing technology. Within the group, GWK acts as a full service provider in the plastics industry.
